Marion Evans Joyce, 62, of Scranton, died Wednesday at Geisinger Community Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Her husband of 24 years is Jamie Joyce.
Born in Scranton, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Jane Williams Evans. A graduate of Tunkhannock Area High School, Marion worked for 25 years in the housekeeping department of Moses Taylor Hospital, and later worked at the Giant Market on Green Ridge Street.
Marion loved spending time with her family and friends, and keeping up with them on social media. She was always happy to travel to the beach, and especially enjoyed visits with family in Hudson, Fla.; as well as day trips to local casinos.
A loving wife, mother, sister and daughter-in-law, Marion will be deeply missed by her family.
Also surviving are a daughter, Frankie Ann; and a son, Joshua; two sisters, Ann Marie Braun and Frannie Lancaster; five brothers, Jackie, Teddy, Billy, Jesse and Richie Evans; her mother-in-law, Carol Joyce; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was also preceded in death by her father-in-law, James Joyce.
Friends may call Monday, 3 to 6 p.m., at the Neil W. Regan Funeral Home Inc., 1900 Pittston Ave. A brief memorial service will begin at 5:45 p.m.
