Patrick Naughton

Patrick Naughton, Pre-arranged Funerals, Neil Regan Funeral Home, Scranton, PA

Patrick Naughton, 60, of Scranton, died Monday, January 13, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart after an illness. His wife of 35 years is the former Judy Niemiec.

Born in Scranton, he was a son of the late Francis and Josephine Magnone Naughton, and a member St Paul's Parish. A graduate of Scranton Technical High School, Pat was employed for many years in the food service department at Geisinger Community Medical Center, where he worked in the hospital coffee shop. He also later worked as a transporter for Lehigh Valley Hospital in Dickson City.

Pat was a natural "people person" and was happiest when he was helping and supporting others. He was well-loved by his co-workers and friends and never hesitated to put a smile on someone's face. He enjoyed bowling and participated in local leagues at Green Ridge, South Side, and Idle Hours Lanes. He loved any chance to visit his favorite local spots, the Glider Diner, Buona Pizza, and Arcaro's Pizza, for a meal. He was also an avid New York Yankees fan and delighted in coaching baseball alongside his son, Pat Jr. Pat also shared his home with many beloved pets over the years.

As a loving husband, father, and grandfather, Pat was always there for his family—he never missed a game, a dance, or other school event. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.

Also surviving are a son, Patrick Jr. and wife Faith, Scranton; three grandchildren, Rose, Chase, and Patrick (Little Patty); five sisters, Judy, Nancy, Rose, Geraldine, and Mary Jo; three brothers, Donald, Bernie, and Franco; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mollie.

The funeral will be Friday, with Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Church, 1510 Penn Ave., celebrated by Msgr. Neil J. Van Loon, V.F. Friends may call Thursday, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Neil W. Regan Funeral Home Inc., 1900 Pittston Ave.

Those attending the funeral on Friday are asked to proceed directly to the church.
