Edmund G. Exner, 103, of South Scranton, formerly of New Jersey, died Wednesday at Linwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. His wife, Mary Duby Exner, preceded him in death.
Born in Newburgh, N.Y., son of the late George H. and Pauline Mozelesky Exner, he was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church until its closing and was the oldest living member of St. Paul of the Cross Parish in South Scranton. Educated in Newburgh schools, Ed was a sergeant in the United States Army Air Force in World War II. He attended Seton Hall University and retired from Schering-Plough in Kenilworth, N.J.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church at St. Paul of the Cross Parish, 1217 Prospect Ave., on Monday at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Scott Sterowski, pastor.
Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Neil W. Regan Funeral Home, 1900 Pittston Ave., Scranton. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery. Military honors are to be provided by DuPont AMVETS.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul of the Cross Parish, 1217 Prospect Ave., Scranton PA 18505.
