Green Funerals
With our Green Funeral options:
- All services are conducted with environmentally-friendly, eco-conscious considerations
- We provide a level of preparation of the deceased that the family is most comfortable with, from refrigeration and simple disinfection to embalming using only biodegradable chemicals.
- Viewing and service options (public or private) are available, either at our location or another, such as the home or a church
- A biodegradable shroud or casket of family's choice is used; these are typically made of wicker or bamboo, or more traditional style wood caskets which are unfinished and contain no metal, varnishes or other contaminants
- Participation of family members in the process of caring for the deceased is encouraged to the degree that family members are comfortable, which may include sanitizing, shrouding or dressing, placement of the deceased into the burial vessel, and transportation to the cemetery
- We offer coordination of arrangements with clergy, celebrants and other service providers
- A cemetery that utilizes natural burial practices is used for interment. Standards vary by cemetery, but in general environmentally-friendly sustainable guidelines are followed
