JoAnn McGlone, Pre-arranged Funerals, Neil Regan Funeral Home, Scranton, PA

JoAnn McGlone, 86, of Scranton, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, at Linwood Nursing Center.

Born in Terre Haute, Ind., she was a daughter of the late James and Ruth Weir Motz. She had been a member of Oregon Baptist Church there.

JoAnn was in recovery for over 40 years and turned her struggle into a vocation, working as a certified addiction counselor at Marworth Treatment Center for some years. Prior to retirement, she worked for a private practice, continuing to serve countless clients on the road to recovery.

JoAnn was deeply devoted to her family. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Surviving are a daughter, Cynthia Horten; a son, Timothy Patrick and wife, Amanda McGlone; seven grandchildren, Ryvers and Jason McGlone, Steven and Michael Horten, and James, Sean and Elizabeth McGlone; a great-grandson, Ethan Horten; two brothers, Richard and Larry Motz; a niece and several nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Darol Michael and Howard James McGlone; and son-in-law, Kim R. Horten.
